CSV templates

Prepare records from an unsupported broker in a spreadsheet, then import the completed CSV on iPhone or Mac. No column mapping is needed on iPhone.

Transactions record trades and income over time. Positions record your holdings on one date. Use one account per file.

Examples demonstrate the format only. Replace fictional records with your own; do not import them as real trades.

Prepare the file

  1. Fill Brokerage and Account in the metadata rows. Keep both names identical in related transaction and position files. Positions also require PositionAsOfDate in YYYY-MM-DD format.
  2. Keep the metadata keys and column headings in English exactly as downloaded. Do not translate, delete, or rearrange the metadata rows. Keep ValrisaFormatVersion,1.1 and FileType unchanged.
  3. Use YYYY-MM-DD dates and plain decimal numbers. Amount is net cash including fees: credits positive, debits negative. Do not deduct fees a second time. Option quantities are contracts; short position quantities are negative.
  4. Reporting is in USD. Convert other currencies to USD before import, including amounts, prices, fees, market values and cost basis. Keep quantities unchanged and retain exchange-rate records.
  5. Save as UTF-8 CSV (.csv), not Excel (.xlsx). Keep a copy of the original brokerage export and check your completed records against it.

Common Action values: Buy, Sell, Buy to Open, Sell to Open, Buy to Close, Sell to Close, Cash Dividend, Credit Interest, Margin Interest. Use a recognized US option contract symbol for option trades.

Import on iPhone

  1. Save the completed CSV to Files using Safari Downloads, email → Share → Save to Files, or iCloud Drive. From a Mac you can also use AirDrop and choose Files when offered.
  2. In Options Tracker, tap Import CSV → Browse, open the saved folder, and select the file. Download cloud-only files in Files first. Each file must be at most 25 MB.
  3. Review the filename and preview, then confirm. Cancel makes no portfolio changes. Compare imported transactions and holdings with your brokerage statement.

Schwab CSV exports and IBKR Activity Statement CSV files can be imported directly in their supported formats. These templates are for other brokers or manually prepared records.

Your records stay with you

This page only provides downloads; it does not upload or convert brokerage files. The app imports and stores records locally. Do not send account credentials or unmasked financial records to support.
